Integration with Autotask allows project/ticket data to be brought into Moovila to take advantage of powerful project management functionality. Here's how to connect them:
- Before Autotask can be integrated with Moovila there are several steps to be taken within Autotask to set up permissions and structure for a successful integration. If you have not already done so, please follow the steps found in Autotask API Security Settings and return to this article when ready.
- To begin the integration process, click on the More menu icon in Moovila's left navigation.
- The More menu opens. Select the Integrations option.
The Integrations dialogue opens. Click on the Autotask PSA tile to get started.
- The Autotask Integration Setup dialogue opens. Click Get Started to begin.
- The Authentication dialogue opens. Enter the Username (Key) and the Password (Secret) that was generated from the API User that you set up in Autotask with the appropriate permissions (review the steps for that pre-integration setup here). Once those values have been entered, click Next to continue.
- Project Status mapping is the next step. The Default Mapping of Project Statuses dialogue opens. Project Status Mapping is where each project status in Autotask is associated with a project status in Moovila. First indicate the default value for project status. Move line by line, selecting the status that corresponds to the status in each system, or choose to leave the "Defer to Default" status setting. When all statuses have been mapped, click the Next button to proceed to the next step.
- The Task Priority dialogue opens. Autotask has a central, ordered listing of all statuses that are used across all ticket types. First we will set up a default mapping of the project task statuses in Moovila to the project task statuses in Autotask. Click the Add Default Mapping link in the upper right of the screen.
- The Default Mapping of Task Priorities dialogue opens. Project Task Status Mapping is where each task priority in Autotask is associated with a task status in Moovila. First indicate the default value for task priority. Move line by line, selecting the priority level that corresponds to the priority level in each system, or choose to leave the "Defer to Default" status setting. Once all task priorities have been mapped, click the Save button to proceed and return to the Task Priority dialogue.
In the Task Priority dialogue continue through the listing of task priority settings, choosing either to use the default mapping (which you've just established) by clicking the Use Default checkbox or click the associated link to Add Category Specific Mapping if needed. Click Next to proceed.
-
The Notes section of the wizard opens. This section offers Auto-map functionality, allowing you to have existing note categories in Autotask copied into Moovila. They can then be automatically mapped into the grid below. Note that any existing mappings will not be overridden by this action. Click the Auto-map button to proceed, and select the note categories that should be auto-mapped. Next click Proceed to Mapping.
Next, choose what a new note category in Moovila should default to in Autotask, and do the same for new note categories added to Autotask. Click the Next button to proceed.
- Time Entry dialogue opens. From the Default Work Type dropdown menu, select the work type that should be used as a default at the task level if one is not explicitly set upon task creation. Click Next to proceed.
- The Enable dialogue opens. Click Enable and Close to proceed and complete the configuration.
