Depending on an organization's workflow, project initiation may occur in Halo PSA with project buildout occurring in Moovila to take advantage of advanced project planning tools and optimized templates.
- Import the shell project into Moovila. From the Project Portfolio, click on the More Options icon in the menu, then select the Import Project option.
- The Import Project dialogue opens. Select HaloPSA from the Platform dropdown menu, and enter the HaloPSA Project ID (this can include or exclude the leading zeros). Click the Verify button to confirm that the project meets the necessary criteria for import. Save as my default (in the upper right corner) may be used to save these settings so that HaloPSA is always the selected platform.
- If the project is missing a project name, start date, target date, and/or an assigned agent, Moovila will notify you in this step and that information can be added within HaloPSA before import. Click Change Project to try another project.
- If the project meets all of the necessary criteria, "Project is verified for import" will appear in the dialogue. Click Import to bring in this project.
Note that if a project is archived in Moovila it will no longer sync with HaloPSA. The sync may be reenabled if needed, after the project has been returned to an active status (not archived). - Open the imported project, and click on the More Options icon in the upper navigation.
- The More Options menu opens. Click on the Duplicate from Project/Template option.
- Click on the Phase to Duplicate button to select the phase(s) that will be pulled into this project.
- A Projects dialogue opens, displaying available sources for phases to be copied from to build out this project. By default this area will display project templates. To change what is displayed, click on the Filter button.
The Filter Projects panel opens. Here you may opt to display Projects as well, or to display only Projects. Click Apply to save that filter setting. - Click on the Select buttons to select one or more phases to import into this project. Note that phases may be expanded to view child phases, and that when a parent phase is selected, all of the child phases are selected as well. Click the Apply button to proceed.
- You will return to the Duplicate from Project/Template dialogue. Click on the Target Parent Phase button to choose the location of the copied phase(s).
- Choose the target phase for the copied phase(s), and click Apply to proceed.
- Again, you will return to the Duplicate from Project/Template dialogue. Click on the Duplicate from Project/Template button to proceed.
- The selected phase(s) will now appear in the shell project. They will import in the order in which they appeared in the listing.
To reorder the phases, click on the Reorder button in the upper right navigation, then drag and drop the phases into their desired location. - To review the dependencies that have imported with these new phases, move into the Critical Path view.
