Organizations using the ConnectWise integration in Moovila have the option to sync time between the two systems. This decision can be made when setting up the integration, and revisited at any time. To learn more about setting up the ConnectWise integration, visit this article.
- The setting to turn on/off the bi-directional time sync can be found by using the More Options menu in the left navigation, selecting Integrations from the dropdown menu, and clicking into the ConnectWise integration tile.
- The setting resides in the Time Entries area, and can be turned on/off by selecting the Enable Time Entry Sync box.
Organizations that have time entry sync enabled will now have time bi-directionally synced with ConnectWise. Those who do not wish to utilize Time Entry Sync functionality will not be forced to go through configuration items, they can un-select and continue to the next steps in the configuration process. - The following fields map between Moovila and ConnectWise to enable the bi-directional sync:
- The following are important considerations to keep in mind when the bi-directional time sync is enabled:
- Time may not be entered on closed tasks to ensure a smooth data sync.
- ConnectWise has a concept of “Deductions” on time entries. This concept does not exist in Moovila, so any records that are updated in Moovila will clear out that deduction field.
- As an example:
- A 10 hour total time entry is created in ConnectWise with a 6 hour deduction.
- That is sent to Moovila as a 4 hour total entry
- If that 4 hour entry is changed in Moovila to 6 hours, the integration will send back 6 total hours to ConnectWise, and the “deduct” field value will be removed from ConnectWise.
- Note that "billable time" is the total time minus the deduction in ConnectWise.
- As an example:
-
There are many configuration options in ConnectWise that may impact the reconciliation of time entries in ConnectWise and what is being viewed in Moovila. Examples are below of scenarios in which time may not match:
- Time is entered in Moovila and has a task status that is mapped to a ConnectWise status marked as “Time Entry not allowed.”
- Deletion of time entries in ConnectWise does not consistently send webhooks to Moovila. Therefore, entries may not exist in ConnectWise that are still visible in Moovila; however, periodic polling of all time entry records will catch these missing record and bring them into Moovila (~ every 4 hours).
