Using + Creating Workspaces in Power Grids

Workspaces are curated column views that are available in Tasks and Project Power Grids. They allow you to customize, save, and quickly view specific column sets with established column order and sorting applied. Workspaces may be used to create tailored views that address a specific context of use for Moovila (e.g. a Workspace that focuses on financial columns, a Workspace that focuses on Time Entry related columns, etc.).

  1. From either the Tasks or a Project Power Grid, click on the Workspaces icon in the upper navigation.

  2. The Workspaces menu opens, displaying the following options:

a.<reset to default>: Restores the columns displayed, their display order, any sort properties applied, and column widths to the original default settings. In this example, that would be the Workspace "1 - Project Standard [Default]" that appears first in the listing.
b.Global Workspaces: These Workspaces are visible to all users in the organization and have been created by Moovila.
c.Published Workspaces:  These are Workspaces that have been created by users within the organization. Published Workspaces may be added by users with the Workspace Publishing permission.
d.Personal Workspaces: These are user-created Workspaces that may only be viewed/used by the user who created them. An unlimited number of Personal Workspaces may be created.
    e.

[Create New Workspace]: This menu option allows for the creation of a new Workspace, essentially saving the current columns displayed, the order in which they are displayed, their width, and any applied sort orders. Everyone may access this functionality and create new Workspaces, but only those with the Workspace Publishing permission will see the Personal/Published toggle, which allows them to publish their Workspaces.

To add a new Workspace, enter the Name (required) and Description (optional).
Select a Location to indicate from which Power Grid screens this Workspace will be available. This allows Workspaces to be presented in the context in which they will be most useful and prevents a cluttered collection of Workspaces. Choose from the following:

a.All: This Workspace will be available in all locations--in the Task, Projects, and Project Templates Power Grids.
b.Task: This Workspace will be available in the Task Power Grid.
c.Projects: This Workspace will be available in the Projects Power Grid.
d.Project Templates: This Workspace will be available in the Project Templates Power Grid.

f.Edit Workspace: When mousing over a Workspace in the menu, the Edit icon appears. In order to edit a Workspace, you must first have that Workspace open. Add or remove columns, change their sort order, change their display order, then click this Edit icon and click the Save button to save the changes to this Workspace.
