Using the Project Portfolio: Grid View

Grid View displays an overview of the health and status of each project in the Project Portfolio as a separate line in the listing.

Core Elements of the Portfolio Grid View:

  1. Column Display Settings: Click to turn on/off the columns and timeline visualizations displayed. A checkmark next to a column title indicates that it will be displayed.

    a.   Category: The category with which the project has been associated (categories are customizable and allow similar projects to be grouped)
    b. Changed Date: The date the project was last modified
    c. Customer: The customer associated with this project
    d. Due Date: The assigned due date for the project
    e. Effort Balance: The amount of hours remaining to be worked based upon tasks completed in the project
    f. Effort Total: The total of hours associated with tasks in this project
    g. Favorite: Projects can be "favorited" by clicking on the star icon. The favorites view can then be used to show only projects with this characteristic
    h. Forecast Date: Displays the date that a project is forecasted to end without intervention. Dates in purple are forecasted to end on-time, dates in red are forecasted to end late, and dates in green are forecasted to finish early
    i. Impact: The daily financial impact associated with this project appears in this column for those with rights to view it (those rights are configured in project setup)
    j. Partner: Displays the partner associated with this project
    k. Product: The product associated with this project
    l. Program: The program with which the project has been associated (programs are customizable organizational initiatives)
    m. Project Name: The listed name of the project
    n. Project Owner: The person to whom the project belongs
    o. Project Priority: The assigned project priority (Low, Normal, High, Critical)
    p. RPAX: The score assigned to this project based upon best practices in project management. The higher the score, the more likely that this project will be completed on time
    q. Scope: The reach of this project (Enterprise, Team, Personal)
    r. Stage: The stage that has been assigned to this project’s progress (stages are customizable and allow projects at a similar point of progress be grouped)
    s. Start Date: The date the project began
    t. Status: The status currently assigned to this project (Planning, In Progress, On Hold, Cancelled, Complete). Or, if you are using the ConnectWise integration, this column will display your custom statuses.

    Status Group-Task: Displays the project board to which this project belongs in ConnectWise. This column is only available to users of the ConnectWise integration.

    v. Sub Title: Sub-title detail for the project
    w. Task Counts:Total, Late, Blocked, Critical Priority, Done, Late, Open, Total
    x. Team: The team assigned to the project
    y. Value: The project value associated with this project appears in this column for those with rights to view it (those rights are configured in project setup)
    z. Variance: Difference between Due Date and Forecasted Completion Date
    zz. Timeline: Late Tasks, Milestone Tasks, Forecast Box, Progress
  2. Adjustable Columns: Expand or decrease the width of columns by pulling their edges. Change the order of columns by dragging and dropping them to the right or left.
  3. Project Grouping: These groupings represent the Sort criteria assigned to the Project Portfolio, and can be collapsed or expanded using the Close All, +,  and – buttons.
