Working a Project: Using Hot Keys in Power Grid View

Below is a listing of hot key commands for use in Power Grid view. The command is listed first for a PC, and then for a Mac. In the instance that the command is the same only one format is listed.

  • Ctrl + F / Command F: Opens Quick Filter functionality
  • Shift: Opens dropdown menus or any field with a down arrow (e.g. Chat, Priority, Owner), activates/deactivates Milestone icon
  • Ctrl + Shift + A / Command + Shift + A: Adds a new Task (once you have added a task, you can hit return to add additional tasks)
  • Ctrl + C / Command + C: Copy (works w/in the same column—e.g. Work Window will not paste to Work Estimate)
  • Ctrl + V / Command + V: Paste (works w/in the same column—e.g. Work Window will not paste to Work Estimate)
  • Shift + Select: Allows for the selection of a range of cells (within one column)
  • Ctrl + Select / Command + Select: Allows for the selection/deselection of independent cells or cells in a range (within one column)
  • Spacebar: Enters milestones in the milestone field.
  • To move between cells when in edit mode, the following can be used:
    • Page Up
    • Page Down
    • Up + Down Arrows
    • Tab
  • Using a right click on any row, the following options appear:
    • Copy (Name)
    • Paste
    • Add Task
    • Duplicate Task
    • Clear edits for this Task
  • Using a right click on any phase or sub-phase, the following options appear:
    • Add Task (adds a task within that phase or sub-phase)
    • Add a Sub-Phase (adds a sub-phase within that phase or sub-phase)
    • Edit Phase
    • Move a Phase
    • Duplicate Phase
    • Duplicate and Move Phase
    • Delete Phase
  • Using a right click on the column header area, the following options appear:
    • Hide Column
    • Open Column Picker
