Applying Work Type Defaults at the Enterprise, Project, and Task Levels
ConnectWise has multiple ways that work types can be set as defaults:
- An overall enterprise default must be set
- A default work type may be set per project board (optional)
- A default work type may be set at the ticket level (optional)
In Moovila we accommodate this logic by doing the following:
- The enterprise default will be set based on what the default is in ConnectWise
- When a project is imported from or pushed to ConnectWise, if there is a default work type for that project board, it will be saved as the default work type to the project. This default work type may be viewed in the Project Sync Detail dialogue for that project.
- Work Type is an additional attribute for Moovila tasks that may be accessed via the Work Type Default column in the Power Grid view. This does not have to be populated, but when it is, each time entry created under that task will assume the task's work type.
Hierarchy of Work Types
Overall, the logic that Moovila follows as it is applying a default work type for a task is as follows:
- If there is a default work type on the task, it will be applied.
- If not, if there is a default work type on the project, it will be applied.
- If not, the enterprise default work type will be applied.
